# Softwexa Mail — Named-buyer commercial source licence

Copyright © 2026 Softwexa contributors. All rights reserved, except as expressly licensed below or required by applicable law. This is proprietary software, not an open-source release.

## 1. Buyer and scope

After a valid purchase, the seller identified in the written order/invoice grants only the named buyer a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to use and privately modify Softwexa Mail for that buyer’s own internal use in one identified end-use project and one production installation. Ownership of the copyright is not transferred. A preview or evaluation copy does not establish a purchased licence. Another person, client, business or independent project needs a separate licence; agency resale and client handover are not included.

The source-licence price is EUR 200 plus applicable tax, paid once. The written order must identify the seller, named buyer, project, delivered version, licence identifier, tax treatment and payment/delivery/refund terms before purchase. Infrastructure, mailbox services, installation work, support and update commitments are separate unless expressly included in that order. No subscription, lifetime updates or support response time is promised by this file.

## 2. Permitted private copies

The buyer may make only the private copies reasonably necessary to install, run, develop, test, stage, restore and back up the same licensed project. These copies must not operate as additional independent production installations or be made available to others. Private modifications remain subject to this licence. A contractor may access the code only as the buyer’s confidential service provider for this project, with equivalent written restrictions and no independent use, ownership, redistribution or sublicence rights. Preserve copyright and third-party notices.

## 3. No resale or redistribution

Unless mandatory applicable law grants a right that cannot be excluded, the buyer must not sell, resell, rent, sublicense, transfer, publish, share or distribute the software or its source, modified source or packaged/compiled versions, whether for payment or free of charge. This includes public repositories, marketplaces, torrents, bundles, templates, giveaways and delivery to another client or business. Removing notices or presenting the software as the buyer’s original product is prohibited. Serving the browser assets needed for normal operation of the licensed private installation is permitted; it does not authorise distribution of the source package. Broader rights require the copyright holder’s separate written permission.

## 4. Infringement and legal remedies

For unauthorised copying, sale or distribution, the rights holder reserves the right, where available under applicable law and supported by evidence, to request removal and cessation, seek interim or final court relief and damages, and submit legally available complaints to competent authorities. A breach does not automatically establish criminal liability, a fixed penalty or a successful claim. Any restriction or remedy applies subject to mandatory law, including any applicable statutory exhaustion, backup, interoperability or consumer rights. No term here overrides a right that legally cannot be waived.

## 5. Independent services and third-party rights

There is no remote licence activation or shutdown mechanism. Technical access does not broaden the purchased rights. The Manrope font retains its separate SIL Open Font License in FONT-LICENSE; these proprietary restrictions do not narrow that licence or any other separately identified third-party rights. Purelymail is an independent service; its brand, service, fees and terms are not licensed or guaranteed by this package.

The written order may grant additional rights expressly. It must not purport to restrict mandatory rights. The licence certificate template in docs/LICENCE-CERTIFICATE.md records the parties and delivery; an unfilled template is not proof of a purchase.

## 8. Installation activation

Version 0.14.0 and later require a personal activation key issued by https://license.softwexa.com before the first administrator can be created. The source-use licence is perpetual for the delivered version; activation does not create a subscription or an entitlement to future updates. One active installation is bound to its installation identifier and exact public origin. Contact the seller before moving to another origin or replacing a lost installation identity. Necessary private source and backup copies remain permitted under section 2; an independently activated runtime needs an appropriate activation assignment.

The installed server sends the activation key only during activation, then uses a private refresh credential. The service receives the installation identifier and origin; mailbox credentials, email contents and attachments are not sent. Signed checks renew approximately daily. A previously validated installation can operate during a temporary service outage until its signed check expires (up to eight days from issuance). An explicit revoked or suspended licence response blocks mail access immediately when checked. Administration, security recovery and host backups remain available. A saved signed check cannot erase a previously downloaded source copy. Keep activation keys and the private state backup confidential.
